Located in Freeman's Bay, Auckland Central  on the northern slopes of Ponsonby, Franklin 38 is perfectly positioned for your luxury urban escape. 15 minute walk to Auckland Central City.

Freeman's Bay is a heritage area with streets lined with gorgeous Victorian Villas with wide views of downtown Auckland and the inner harbour. Once a working class area, Freemans Bay has now become a highly desirable City Fringe destination. Franklin 38 is conveniently located being a leisurely  15 minute walk to downtown Auckland, Wynyard Quarter and the Viaduct Basin.

Trendy Ponsonby Road is only a 5 minute walk away where you will find some of Auckland's finest restaurants and Cafes. Excellent shopping can also be found where some of New Zealand's top designers are situated. 

Franklin 38 is a large two storied return verandah Victorian villa and has been extensively renovated. While maintaining many period features, it has been  updated to the highest standard incorporating contemporary architecture, materials and furnishings. New double glazing throughout the house, formal guest dining for breakfast and guest lounge.

All guest suites have Nespresso coffee machine,  selection of teas with small bar fridges with refreshments. NZ Ashley and Co toiletries are provided for your use in the ensuite bathrooms.

Bluetooth speakers with free wifi, Smart TV's  with netflix in 3 of the suites and freeview TV.

Most suites have  views of the city and Auckland Harbour and 2 complimentary secure car parks

With four suites to choose from, most have fantastic views of the city and of the inner Harbour. Three suites have direct access to the balcony through their own French doors. Wooden shutters and luxury drapes give a feeling of luxury and privacy. Individual Air-conditioning is provided in all bedrooms. Small fridges with refreshments. Selection of teas and Nespresso Coffee makers are provided as are Bluetooth speakers, USB chargers and Smart 32” televisions.  Contemporary designer furniture and luxury linen with custom headboards give the rooms a sophisticated feeling and warmth. Three suites have baths with all having large walk in showers and sliding shower rails. Tiled floors with underfloor heating and heated towel rails in all bathrooms will keep you warm and cosy in the cooler months. 

Iron and ironing board are available by request.

Franklin Road Christmas Lights

Franklin 38 is located on one of Auckland's and New Zealand's most iconic roads. Famous for its London Plane trees that provide a canopy across the width of the road. Franklin Road however is most famous for its Christmas lights where home owners invest a huge amount of effort to dress their homes with decorations and lights through the month of December. Large numbers of children and families enjoy the beginning of festive season with a gentle walk up and down the famous street.

Your Hosts: Relax and put yourself in the hands of caring hosts who are attentive to your needs yet mindful of your privacy, who can help with advice on the many local attractions and make recommendations or bookings on your behalf. Your hosts have completely separate living quarters on the Ground Floor level so privacy is respected at all times. Guest bedrooms are located on the first floor where you can enjoy the panoramic views of the city and harbour. An elevator is available to access the upper floor. The Guest Living, Dining & Powder room rooms are located on the Ground floor. Your hosts,  Sandra & Doug Stockwell (Both born in Auckland) look forward to welcoming you. We have 2 resident small Griffons that you may get a glimpse of during your stay.
